The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation is teaming up with the Mark Cuban Foundation, the Heroes Foundation, and the City of Dallas to gift families with family meal boxes for Mother’s Day.
From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday, May 9, the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center will host Center Table and invite families in the 75216 and 75227 zip codes to drive through and pick up a holiday meal. Registration is required in advance, and can be completed here.
Nowitzki and Cuban have both worked with the Heroes Foundation for years. Dirk has hosted the Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game since 2011, an annual summer event featuring some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment which to date has raised more than $4 million to help children and families throughout North Texas.
The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation also celebrated North Texas Giving Tuesday on May 5 by donating a total of $20,000 to support local non-profits and their efforts within the community. The foundation has remained active during the COVID-19 pandemic, donating $100,000 to the North Texas Food Bank to provide more than 14,000 food boxes to those in need, $25,000 to CitySquare to aid in their drive-through pantry efforts, and $10,000 to Hope Supply Co. to purchase newborn and size 2 diapers to assist the homeless and disadvantaged members of our community.
This most recent effort will help families in Southern Dallas enjoy a nice meal on Mother’s Day and in the days to follow. Click here for more information about the event.
