What this section is for

A roster is a list of names until you know what each of them is for. This section keeps the people: players, the coaches who pick them, the scouts who found them and the staff who never appear in a box score. Some are profiled at length, some appear once in a story someone else is the subject of, and both are worth being able to find.

The index at the bottom of this page is the complete one. Every profile the magazine ever published is in it, under the surname, together with the author pages — the writers themselves, each listing what they signed. Those pages were part of the original archive and none of them were dropped in the redesign; a profile that existed before the relaunch still answers at the same address it always had.

Profiles are deliberately plain. Where a detail came from a source we kept it and said so; where it did not, the line is simply absent rather than filled in with a plausible guess. If you can show that something here is wrong, the page gets corrected and the correction is noted — see How we work.
